Helpdesk TCO calculator
The seat price on a pricing page is the smallest number in a helpdesk decision. This models three years of the real ones: licences that compound with headcount, AI priced per seat on top, implementation, and the admin time a configurable suite consumes every month.
Your incumbent helpdesk
Three-year total cost of ownership
| Cost | Per-agent suite | FlowTux |
|---|---|---|
| Licences (3 years) | $29,280 | $1,764 |
| Implementation | $8,000 | $0 |
| Admin time (3 years) | $12,960 | $4,320 |
| Total | $50,240 | $6,084 |
Seats compound at your growth rate each year: 8 → 10 → 13. FlowTux admin load is modelled at a third of the incumbent’s, since there are no workflow schemes or field contexts to maintain — adjust that assumption yourself if it flatters us.
Three-year difference: $44,156
The line that usually decides this comparison is not the seat price — it is seat growth times the AI add-on. A per-agent suite prices the thing you want more of.
How the math works
Licences compound: seats grow at your chosen rate each year, and each seat pays the base price plus the AI add-on, twelve months a year, for three years. That compounding is the whole argument against per-agent pricing — it charges most for the growth you are trying to enable.
Implementation is a one-off you enter yourself; ask any vendor quoting “no implementation needed” whether professional services are mandatory. Admin time is the cost nobody quotes: hours per month maintaining schemes, fields, and workflows, at a loaded hourly rate. FlowTux’s admin load is modelled at a third of the incumbent’s — an assumption in our favour, so adjust it if you disagree.
Deliberately excluded: the labor cost of handling tickets, which dwarfs both and is modelled in the ROI calculator. For the argument behind these numbers, see the true cost of per-agent pricing and the buyer’s guide.
